Can Whole Body Cryotherapy at -130°C (-202°F) Cut Chronic Pain in Half?
Here’s what happened when 496 patients with spinal and limb arthrosis underwent structured cycles of Whole Body Cryotherapy – a Cryochamber delivering breathable air, cooled by liquid nitrogen.
The Study
496 patients, aged 18 – 82, with spinal and limb arthrosis completed 20 – 30 daily WBC sessions at -130°C (-202°F), each lasting 2 – 3 minutes, combined with kinesiotherapy.
The Results
→ Average pain intensity (VAS scale) fell by 54.8%, measured one month after completing the full session cycle.
→ 88.9% of patients showed improved walking ability.
→ The strongest response was in post-traumatic cases, where pain dropped by 63.8% on average.
The Takeaway
When delivered by trained clinicians, Cryostimulation becomes evidence-informed, measurable rehab – not a wellness gimmick or passive therapy. One clinical protocol, applied daily over a month, changed how nearly 9 in 10 patients moved and how much pain they carried.
This is the kind of outcome that should shape how the industry talks about Cryostimulation – not as a trend, but as a clinical tool for chronic conditions, not acute injuries, with real, referenced results behind it.
